The Gun of the Week this time around is the first handgun from Mossberg in 100 years, the MC1 pistol.
The MC1sc is a subcompact 9mm pistol. It is a recoil operated, striker fired weapon, No huge surprise there. It ships with two magazines, a flush fit 6 round and a 7 round with a finger extension. It also comes with a nice cable lock. The magazines are see-thru, which is kind of unusual. The extractor is external and quite large.
The trigger is straight rather than curved and has the typical Glock-type safety on trigger arrangement. It does not have an interchangeable backstrap.
The pistol has a 3.4” barrel and is 4 ¼ inches high. It is only 1.06 inches wide. It has three dot, drift adjustable sights. It is available with a manual thumb safety, which is required in several states. It weighs 19 ounces with an empty magazine.
The MSRP for this weapon is $425. A Laser module is available for it for an additional $132. It remains to be seen how much of a market there will be for yet another subcompact single-stack 9mm striker fired pistol, but having options are nice.
